What Is Study Permit In Canada?
Applicants should be advised that this study permit is not a visa; therefore doesn’t let them enter Canada.
Applicants also need a visitor visa or an electronic travel authorization (eTA) to accompany with their study permit and submit to Immigration office. Once their study permit and application gets approved, government will issue another visa with the permit.
Government of Canada issues this permit that allows foreign nationals to study at designated learning institutions (DLI) in Canada.
Study Permit Validity
A study permit is usually valid for the length of that particular study program, whether the program is just a certificate or a degree program. In addition, there will be an extra 90 days n the visa. This 90 day margin allows the applicant to get prepared to leave Canada or apply to extend your stay.
If applicant doesn’t finish the courses before the date on the permit, he/she must apply to extend the stay as a student. If not, she/he will need to stop studying and leave Canada. On the other hand, if the applicant finishes the program early, their permit will stop being valid 90 days after they complete their studies, no matter what day is printed on the study permit.
